Vedic Infusions Workshop: Healing and protecting the nervous system with herbal dairy products

Date: Saturday, Feb 15
Time: 1:00-5:00
Instructor: Rachel Warnok
Fee: $75 (includes a $10 material fee)
Location: Lincoln, MA

Infusing herbs in dairy products is a common practice in herbal medicine, with herbal ghees (clarified butters) providing deep healing for the nervous system, and herbal milk decoctions being the preferred way to give herbs to young children. In this 4-hour workshop you’;ll learn how to make herbal ghees and milks, and when this method of administration should be considered. We’ll be making 3 different types of ghee with Ayurvedic herbs; one recipe to enhance memory, and a 2nd recipe typically used to recover from burnout and protect the nervous system from more serious degenerative diseases. We’ll also be making a special kind of milk decoction called bhang, a milk decoction with cannabis, traditionally used to enhance meditation. We’ll cover non-cannabis milk decoctions, which are used for children and nursing mothers. You’ll learn about milk, the medicinal applications of herbal ghees, and hear some fun stories from Hindu mythology while we all cook together.

Recommended for people who enjoy working with the nervous system, those who work with cannabis, meditation and yoga enthusiasts, and parents with young children.
