Herbal Apprenticeship Program 

We are excited to accept registration for the 2017 Arlington Herbal Apprenticeship beginning April 22, 23 and continuing on May 6, 7; June 17, 18; July 8, 9; August 12, 13; September 16, 17; October 14, 15. 

The Herbal Apprenticeship meets one weekend a month for seven months. Students get hands-on experience making tinctures, teas, salves oils, herbal sprays, and flower essences etc. and are exposed to such various herbal traditions as Chinese, Ayurveda and Western Herbalism. Each month we cover a different body system and the herbs that nourish and support it. We focus on plant identification and do medicinal plant walks each weekend. We honor plants as our teachers and allies in the healing process. 
We meet Saturdays from 10:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 10:00 to 4:30 p.m. Here is the schedule:
April 22, 23 - The digestive system; planetary herbal traditions, herbal tastes and energies. Blending teas.  
May 6, 7 - The respiratory system; herbal steams, essential oils and tincture making. Learning pulses.
 June 17, 18 - The nervous system; herbal sedatives, tonics and stimulants; making herbal salves.

July 8, 9 - The cardiovascular; making infused oils and flower essences.
August 12, 13 - The reproductive and muscular-skeletal systems and bath salts.
 September 16, 17 - The endocrine and immune systems; harvesting roots, herbal sprays and cold remedies.
 October 14, 15 -  The kidneys; foundational energy; graduation; and herbal medicine show and celebratory feast.
